As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of talent and pure luck. The aim is to move your chips carefully around the board to your home board while at the same time your opposition moves their checkers toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With competing player pieces moving in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for particular strategies at particular times. Here are the last two Backgammon strategies to complete your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the goal of the blocking strategy is to slow down the opponent to shift his pieces, the Priming Game plan is to absolutely block any activity of the opponent by creating a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s pieces will either get hit, or end up in a damaged position if he/she at all tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be established anywhere between point 2 and point eleven in your half of the board. After you’ve successfully built the prime to block the activity of the competitor, your competitor doesn’t even get a chance to toss the dice, that means you move your chips and roll the dice again. You will be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Strategy

The goals of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game technique are very similar – to harm your competitor’s positions with hope to boost your chances of succeeding, however the Back Game tactic relies on seperate tactics to do that. The Back Game tactic is commonly used when you are far behind your opponent. To compete in Backgammon with this technique, you need to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This strategy is more complex than others to play in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your checkers and how the chips are moved is partly the outcome of the dice roll.
